Easter brunch at Chateau Montebello

I A little history Yes this is another chateau and Fairmont hotel  but sometimes holidays just need a special venu.  This Quebec luxury hotel started out as a 17th century Seigniorial estate that was acquired in 1674 by Quebec’s first Bishop  , Bishop Laval.in 1801 it was purchased by the prominent Papineau family and the grand manor still stands on the property  and is now a museum open to the public. I In the 1930 it became a private retreat of the Seigniorial club whose members were prominent business men and pat Canadian Prime Ministers . It also boasted such glamorous dignitaries such as Prince Ranier and Grace Kelly. In 1970 it was taken over by the Canadian Pacific hotels who renamed it Le Chateau Montebello. The resort project was a dream of a Swiss American Hubert Saddlemire who was inspired by the chateaux of the Swiss alps and dubbed this projectLucerne-in-Quebec.  it was later purchased in 1990 by the Fairmont hotel group. Chateau Laurier Holiday High Tea

 First of all I want to apologize for posting this in the new year. This Christmas found so many of my family members hit with flu bugs that many holiday celebrations were  postponed and celebrated at a later date.  Thankfully on December 20, My sister Heidi and our hubbies enjoyed one of many celebratory holiday outings for high tea at the Chateau Laurier .  TheFairmont Chateau Laurier hotel is our  Ottawa castle hotel that is ready all year long to welcome guests to the nations capital. Personally, I’d like to suggest a winter visit as our city offers a festive winter wonderland that would only make a holiday visit more magical. A walk through the hallways and lobby is very magical in itself because you must view the Trees of Hope an event that supports the children and youth at the Children’s Hospital of Easter Ontario (CHEO).
