Chateau Laurier Holiday High Tea
First of all I want to apologize for posting this in the new year. This Christmas found so many of my family members hit with flu bugs that many holiday celebrations were postponed and celebrated at a later date.
Thankfully on December 20, My sister Heidi and our hubbies enjoyed one of many celebratory holiday outings for high tea at the Chateau Laurier .
TheFairmont Chateau Laurier hotel is our
Ottawa castle hotel that is ready all year long to welcome guests to the nations capital. Personally, I’d like to suggest a winter visit as our city offers a festive winter wonderland that would only make a holiday visit more magical.
A walk through the hallways and lobby is very magical in itself because you must view the Trees of Hope an event that supports the children and youth at the Children’s Hospital of Easter Ontario (CHEO). It starts in late November and goes through till the 4th of January.
Donors of local businesses decorate their trees ,some very whimsical ones ,and the public get to vote on their favourite decorated tree.
The Chateau itself just had a multi million dollar revitalization so while I called it a castle it is indeed a very updated hotel on the inside while still boasting beautiful aged architecture..
The Fairmont Chateau Laurier is located in downtown Ottawa, walking distance to Parliament , the Rideau Canal, the National Art Centreand many many museums not to forget the RideaShopping Centre and the Byward Market ....how can you not enjoy a visit here even in the winter time?
The hotel has wonderful restaurants to please any discerning palette but my favourite indulgence is afternoon tea in the glass atrium at Zoe’s longe
Some of the many events offered there were a Dicken’s buffet lunch, Brunch with Santa, ‘Twas the Weekend before Christmas winter wonderland brunch, Yuletide Dinner Buffet, Classic Canadian Christmas, Boxingday brunch, not to forget New Year’s Eve Dinner , Champagne Tea and my favourite Holiday Afternoon Tea.
I realize that I’m gushing and Rambling on and I’m not sponsored at all for doing this post but I just wanted to share with everybody that one of things I’ve discovered is that at this stage in my life there are so many affordable options that we can do to enjoy the holidays where ALL of us get to enjoy being served and we ( women mostly) are all not in our kitchens and grocery stores preparing and cooking till the cows come home!
I can’t even explain how pampered I felt and how enjoyable that afternoon was.
Thanks for allowing me to catch up with you .
